This explanatory video on the subject of dreams was created as my bachelor's project.

My fellow student (Viktoria Kuzyuk) and I wanted the explanatory video to not only be informative, but nice to look at. We wanted it to feel like the character was actually dreaming.

We chose young adults/adults who have not yet informed themselves about why we dream, as the target group. This gave us a better picture of the facts our audience might be interested in.

We set three different questions which we wanted to be answered in our video:

 

What exactly are dreams?

 

Why do we (or don't) remember dreams?

 

What do we dream?

 

Since dreams are not tangible, we decided to depict the dream world as water. To be immersed in water reminded us of a deep sleep state. We also found that underwater movements and the feeling of moving in a dream can be very similar. In addition, many things are possible underwater that cannot be otherwise experienced, just like in a dream. We tried to use the different forms of water and marine animals to further clarify the discussed topics. We made sure not to use classic diagrams or bullet points as visual elements. Instead, we used graphic elements, such as small air bubbles.
